Dr. Ann Branan Horak serves as an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in the College of Liberal Arts.
In her almost twenty years at UTEP, she has taught English Literature, Women and Gender Studies, and Religious Studies, a program she directed. In 2017, Dr. Horak was awarded the University of Texas System Regent’s Outstanding Teaching Award in recognition of her teaching, administrative, and service contributions. She volunteers extensively in her community and sits on the Board of the YWCA El Paso Del Norte Region.
Dr. Horak received her B.A. in English Literature from the University of Texas at Austin and her M.A. and Ph.D. in English Literature from Rutgers University–New Brunswick. She is married to Charles Horak with whom she has three children.
