Nancy Yasharoff

Nancy is vice president of marketing and communications at YWCA USA. She previously served as the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Special Events for Ivymount Corporation, a school for children with autism and other special needs, which serves thirteen school districts throughout the D.C. region. Her responsibilities there included publications, community building, video content, and promotions, as well as creating special events such as the Ivymount gala held at the Washington National Cathedral. Previously, she was the Associate Athletics Director for Communications at American University, where she was responsible for media coverage, publications, and producing a weekly radio show and monthly television show. Prior to working at AU, Nancy served many roles at Washington Sports and Entertainment (now Monumental Sports), including Public Relations Director for the Washington Capitals, Promotions Director for the Washington Wizards and Capitals, and Public Relations Director for Centre Management, promoting concerts and special events. She is committed to good storytelling, mentoring young women and girls, and helping to create better opportunities and programs for those in need.

Nancy grew up in the Midwest and earned a B.A. in American Studies from Smith College, where she was an NCAA volleyball and basketball player. She is a team member of the Smith College Sports Hall of Fame. She and her husband have two daughters, whom she has taught to love movies, treat people with kindness, and execute the perfect pick and roll.
