This week, more than 20 Jewish community centers and schools received bomb threats throughout our country. These, coupled with numerous threats and attacks on mosques take direct aim at our constitutional right to religious freedom.
Statement by Casey Harden, Interim CEO of YWCA USA
“Actions such as the dozens of bomb threats targeting Jewish community centers and schools and recent threats and attacks at numerous mosques fueled by hate, bias and prejudice must be rooted out in our communities and stopped. These efforts to instill terror against any race, religion or marginalized community are unacceptable and un-American. We must join together to root out discrimination, end violence, and improve the lives of all of our neighbors.
“YWCA USA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all – and certainly these latest threats of violence make us even more resolute that justice and equity cannot wait.”
