STATEMENT BY YWCA USA INTERIM CEO CASEY HARDEN
“Senator McConnell’s most recent version of the healthcare bill is just one more dangerous attempt to roll back healthcare access for millions of Americans. The proposed evisceration of Medicaid and the defunding of Planned Parenthood is inhumane. Once again, these policy proposals disproportionately harm women of color, 25 percent of whom are enrolled in Medicaid. Any new healthcare legislation must maintain the Affordable Care Act’s invaluable gains for women and girls. Anything else is unacceptable.”
